'Pilgrims Progress........................"

Good Afternoon;
I just left the case management firm, after doing my part to contribute to Global Warming by signing reams of forms, consents, and applications!
I am extremely optimistic at this time after meeting with the young woman who e-mailed my yesterday, inviting me to come in and apply for services. From the minute I shook her hand and saw the sincere smile that graced both her lips and her eyes, I felt at ease. (And to be perfectly honest, youth and beauty go a long way to making me feel at ease!) But the thing that sruck me most is that it really showed that she CARED, about who I am, about helping in both the short and long term, and most importantly, about what I wanted. The attitude and atmosphere of professionalism and welcome that not only the people, but even the building seems to exude gives me hope that I can find the answers I seek, or at least the proper questions to ask that will enable me to find a solution that meets not only my needs, but my desires as well..(and the proper guidance to define and refine them within reasonable expectations). Although it is a shame that she will not be my case manager, I am hoping I can make the same type of instant connection with whoever will be assigned.
I will be keeping you all informed as things...Hopefully!...progress.
Stay Tuned....Same Bat Time....Same Bat Channel...!
Jenn and Tom asked me if I would babysit tonight, so it is back to their place for the evening, and then, ?????
I am trying to make arrangents to do something with Rachel sometime this weekend, and we are supposed to go over Jenn's one day next week so she and Edward can play together.
Tomorrow, if I can get moving in the morning, I am going to JAI to try to see the doctor for some blood pressure meds, for my hypertension.
I'll be stopping in here, then over to Starbucks at St. Thomas in Owings Mills for coffee with Paul.
I'm outta time.................later...........Dave

I am so pleased to read that you are optimistic about meeting with this agency. It would appear that their underlying philosophy is respect which I have come to believe is the most important thing that we can give/receive. At the risk of sounding biased, I suspect that you are among the most intelligent homeless persons with whom they have come in contact. Not that intelligence should make the difference when one is in need; only an aside comment.
I hope that you are feeling better. Also, it strikes me that your daughter and SIL cherish you. Why else would they ask you to babysit just when you left after having been there for about a month?

Thank you for raising my awareness as to the plight of the homeless. I live in Los Angeles where, thanks to the "powers that be" we have many more homeless people than ever before. Last night, my husband and I took the subway to downtown L.A. and I must tell you that I had a different view of those on the train that appeared to be homeless than I had heretofore had.
