I just finished watching the documentary "Jesus Camp", (made in 2006, during the course of the hearing to confirm Justice Alito to the Supreme Court), DAMN!!!!
Talk about scary, I used to worry about the way the Ultra Orthodox Jewish schools indoctrinate the kids in religion at the expense of secular subjects at times, but seeing how the Evangelical Christians brainwash their kids with religion to achieve and promote a political agenda, I realize that at least we Jews are teaching the children the word as it is written..and how it relates and affects to us!!.. not as a method of inculcating our beliefs...(and I use the word 'our' with a grain of salt when referring to my religiosity as compared to my own spirituality)...on others and programming them to disseminate said opinions and propaganda.
The methods used are nothing less than brainwashing of impressionable children. These kids are as young as 4 or 5 years old and range up to about 12.
The only thing scarier than the kids are the parents and the 'children's pastor'.
Watching the methods used and the reasons stated for the conditioning needed, one can easily see the not so hidden agenda of these people,...to eliminate any and all opposing beliefs and ultimately to eliminate democracy and instate a theocracy, with them as the 'deciders'....(sound familiar? see the footnote during the section on Ted Haggard and the Colorado Springs area megachurches!)....bringing about 'heaven on earth' and their version of the way things should be.
You really should check this DVD out.
